Connecting using mIRC:

Step 1: Download mIRC

You can download mIRC at mIRC's Home Page or mIRC's California Mirror

Once mIRC is downloaded and installed, launch it and goto the 'File' menu option and select 'Options' (or press ALT + E).

Step 2: Configure the PSI TECH server

Click the 'Add' button to add the PSI TECH server to your server list.
Later, in the fields below, enter your name, email address, nickname, and an alternate nickname.
If you are prompted for an 'IdentD' name, enter your selected nick.


Fill the setup 'Add Server' dialog box with these values:

Description: PSI TECH Chat
IRC Server: psitech.net
Port(s): 6667
Leave the 'Group' field blank
No password is currently required to access the chat rooms.

Click 'Add' when finished.


Step 3: Enter the PSI TECH Chat

Highlight the 'PSI TECH' entry you just created in the server drop down list.
Press the 'Connect to IRC Server' button.

When the client has connected and the welcome text appears the 'mIRC channels folder' appears, enter #chat1 into the top field ("enter name of channel to join").
Click the 'add' button to add this channel to your list.
Highlight '#chat1' in the channels list and click the 'join' button to join that channel.

If the list does not pop up automatically, you can join the channel by typing in
/join #chat1
in the main (status) window.
